Anger after vandal targets Wolves' statue honouring Sir Jack Hayward
The statue honouring Sir Jack Hayward has been vandalised just weeks after being unveiled outside Molineux.
The structure depicting the legendary former Wolves owner in his famous thumbs-up pose appears to have been drawn on with marker pen, attracting anger from fans.
It means repair work will have to be carried out on the plinth only three months after the statue was installed.
Last year, the Billy Wright statue outside the stand that bears the iconic defender's name on Waterloo Road had to be repaired after being struck by a car.
Albert Bates, chairman of the Official Supporters' Club, labelled the vandalism 'disgraceful'.
He said: "Whoever it was it certainly wasn't a Wolves fan. I don't know if they have got a low IQ or they are just stupid.
"A lot of people have no respect in this day and age for what people have done for them or have tried to do."
Celebrations were held as the statue was unveiled in June in front of Wolves legends including record goalscorer Steve Bull.
It shows Sir Jack with his thumbs-up, mirroring the famous moment he celebrated Wolves reaching the Premier League for the first time in 2003 after years of trying.
