Steve Bull: Wolves should secure survival first, then push on into the top half
My expectations for Wolves this season? Oh my word, I am hoping for top half of the table.
I think survival should be the first thing but I am expecting a cracking season.
But it will be a lot tougher than what we think.
Who will be our key players? Jeez, I think you can take a pick out of the whole squad.
We have got some quality players, very skilful.
I think the toughest job that Nuno has got is putting it all together.
I know he can do it. He did it last year.
Neves, the goalkeeper and Boly need to step up to the mark this year because it will be tough for them.
I am very impressed with the new signings. I think everybody was wondering what Fosun would do, whether they would sit on their hands or delve into their pockets, but they are doing exactly what they said and putting money where their mouth is.
You look around the Premier League and see the quality of the squads and I think it will be really tough for Wolves.
I hope they will cause a few teams surprises but I haven’t seen them yet.
I heard when they played abroad they played out of their skin.
There are key games I am looking forward to.
I think they need to get the first one out of the way because Everton I think are benchmarks for where we will finish.
They always tend to finish around eighth, ninth or tenth so I think if we can win then watch out for the league.
I think the other teams will have watched Wolves last year.
They will have had scouts all over the place. I think they will be saying ‘make sure you mark him’.
Hopefully Nuno has got more tricks up his sleeve this year to surprise the other teams. Wolves are reportedly interested in signing two more players and I think the more the merrier.
It will put a lot of pressure on the players saying they have got to earn that Wolves shirt.
I would love to think we would finish above top ten.
Looking personally by the way Wolves finished last season and strengthened, we could maybe reach eighth or ninth.
But I always say survival first and then take it from there.
I think Nuno will play the same way as he did last year.
When we played Manchester City we played his style and gave them a cracking game.
If he can do that again then we can upset teams who play 4-4-2. Other teams will find it harder to play against us.
The crowds will be unbelievable. We have had fantastic support over the years and it will only get better looking at the season tickets.
All Wolves fans want is a hardworking side. I can’t wait to see them come out and perform.
