The resurgent Rams have won two successive games – after previously going winless in eight – to steady the ship as they look to secure a play-off place.

Rowett’s team beat Bolton 3-0 on Saturday and travel to Wolverhampton in confident mood.

Derby have only lost three away games all season and Rowett said: “We’re capable of beating anyone.

“I think playing away suits us and gives the opposition something to think about.

“It will be an interesting one. They are a very good side and we know it will be a difficult task but I’m sure they will be aware that we are a good side, too.

“I liked the performance on Saturday and two good results makes us feel a bit better about ourselves.

“Everyone has had a poor run of form apart from Wolves really. That’s normal and we’ve been exactly the same.

“We’re hoping that’s out of the way now and we can build a bit of momentum, because finishing strongly is better than scraping over the line.

“I don’t think we will need to win every game. Teams will take points off each other. But you can’t afford to slip up for more than a couple of games.

“We had a rough points total for the play-offs. Now we’re unsure of it - but you’ve just got to keep winning games.

"We looked at around 75 points. Historically, that would normally get you in the play-offs.

"Looking at it now, it might be more, it might be less. Of course, we will try to win every game."

Nuno earned the wrath of Cardiff boss Warnock when running on the pitch to celebrate Friday’s dramatic 1-0 win.

Rowett backed Nuno in the pair’s spat.

“It’s hard to criticise someone celebrating a win,” he said.

“Are you frustrated that he didn’t shake your hand or that you lost the game?

“But I thought his apology afterwards was very classy.

“Maybe in that moment, the excitement and jubilation took over.

“Neil’s never going to shy away from giving his opinion.

“It’s not my concern. I can understand him feeling it was disrespectful but I can see both sides.

“Nothing is guaranteed but I’d be very surprised if (Wolves) don’t get over the line now.

“They’ve been very consistent, they’ve got some very good players, and have been quite resilient as well.”

Bradley Johnson (ankle), Marcus Olsson (knee), Ikechi Anya (calf) and ex-Wolves striker Sam Winnall (knee) are all set to miss tomorrow’s game through injury.
