So it was a meeting of two powerhouses when Prime Minister Theresa May and Fosun supremo Guo Guangchang sat down for talks.

The pair met as part of Mrs May's visit to China as she discussed possible future trade deals - but whether the boss of the global conglomerate that owns Wolves brought up potential Premier League imports to Wolverhampton, or whether there was an invitation to Molineux for the PM, is not known.

Mrs May was pictured smiling as she strode alongside multi-billionaire Fosun chariman and co-founder Guangchang, who has attended several games at Molineux.

The two also sat down for talks, where they discussed 'trade, globalisation and innovation'.

His spirits have no doubt been lifted by Wolves' march to the top of the Championship which has them closing in on a place in the Premier League - which was the first aim when Fosun took over in 2016.

Mrs May spent three days in China along with husband Phillip, during which time she met President Xi Jinping and took part in various traditional customs, including drinking Lapsang Souchong tea.
