Paul Lambert

Paul Lambert (AMA Sports)

Former Livingston, Wycombe, Colchester, Norwich, Villa and Blackburn boss who arrived at Molineux last November to replace Walter Zenga refreshed after a break from the game that included coaching excursions in Germany with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Win percentage of 42 per cent only bettered by Kenny Jackett of Wolves’ nine bosses since 2000, but he lost too many (13 of 30) and wanted the final say on transfers, which Fosun weren’t prepared to allow.

Unlikely to struggle to get a Championship job. Or maybe he fancies a return to Germany?

Rob Edwards

Rob Edwards (AMA Sports)

Up-and-coming coach who took the academy under-18s job in 2014.

Edwards had previously spent four years as a defender at Molineux, making more than 100 appearances between 2004 and 2008.

Kenny Jackett promoted him to first-team coach in 2015 and he continued in the same role under both Walter Zenga and Lambert.

Was interim boss after Zenga was sacked, overseeing a defeat to Derby and a draw at Blackburn.

Has spoken about wanting to cut his teeth in management at some point and he will now look for someone to take a gamble on him.

Stuart Taylor

Stuart Taylor (AMA Sports)

Arrived with Lambert in November last year as first-team coach, jointly working alongside Rob Edwards.

He had previously worked as under-23s coach at Aston Villa under Lambert.

Previously had a varied coaching career which began at Airdrie in Scotland, then Hamilton Academical, before coaching roles in Qatar with Al Khor and Ireland with Limerick.

A quiet and professional coach who was popular at Compton Park.

Never fulfilled any media duties but was often seen closely in conference with Lambert and Edwards during games.

May now wait for Lambert’s next move.

Tony Daley

Tony Daley (AMA Sports)

Loyal fitness and sport science chief who moves on after 10 years.

Former Villa and England winger Daley had spent four injury-hit years at Molineux in the 1990s, as well as also featuring for Watford and Walsall.

Returned in 2007 as fitness and conditioning coach.

Deeply respected behind the scenes at Compton Park having overseen the sport science provision for the entire club.

Recently spoke eloquently after the death of his long-time manager Graham Taylor.

Won’t be short of offers as he’s well thought of throughout the game.

Pat Mountain

Pat Mountain (AMA Sports)

Popular Welsh goalkeeping coach who joined Wolves in 2008.

Had previously worked with Cardiff’s academy, Wales Under-21s, Cheltenham and Hereford, working with Wolves figures Keith Downing and Graham Turner at the latter two clubs.

Mountain was a Wales Under-21 international but retired due to injury aged 27.

He was the youngest ever coach to complete UEFA’s outfield and goalkeeping coaching A licences.

Wolves’ goalkeeping department has been strong for years and Mountain has played a key role.

Now in discussions over an academy job.
