On the face of it back in August, it seemed as though Albion's summer recruitment had been a huge success.

Loanees from the Premier League and Europe, and the acquisition young and up and coming talent was all finished off by bringing back one of last season's heroes.

In the opening weeks of the season it was all rosy, but despite going on a long unbeaten run there have been cracks appearing and real areas that Albion need to improve.

Injuries, some new and some long term, have caused a problem for Carlos Corberan and his staff, but as we head into the festive period and then into the crucial window, it is clear reinforcements are needed.

Up front is the area where all the eyes are on, and that is justified. Josh Maja has done a sterling job leading the line, but it is clear he cannot do it on his own. With Daryl Dike's fitness still questionable, Albion could do with another quality addition up there.
