That winner came after Hal Robson-Kanu had put Albion ahead, before Mohamed Salah's strike levelled proceedings.
There was VAR controversy though which went against Albion, after they saw Kyle Bartley's close range strike ruled out after officials deemed Matt Phillips to be affecting play from an offside position.
The result ensures Liverpool can continue battling for a place in the top four, whilst Albion look forward to Championship football next season.
