Slaven Bilic: West Brom on right track

Head coach Slaven Bilic says Fulham will face an Albion side on the up when the two teams lock horns tonight.

The Baggies travel to Craven Cottage knowing a win for either side will provide a huge boost to their survival hopes.

Albion enter the match having impressed in recent outings against Burnley and Brighton – games that ended in a draw. That means heading into tonight’s clash they are two points clear of the relegation zone.

And despite admitting there is still plenty of room for improvement, Bilic believes his team is on the right track.

“Fulham is an important game,” the boss said. “We are now two games unbeaten, we have played well for two games and we want to build on that. It’s not a decisive game because it is still very early in the season. But it is a very important one.

“At the start of the season, almost everybody was predicting that we would finish bottom. But we are not there.

“At this moment we are two points clear – for that I would like to praise the guys.

“Of course, like Fulham, we haven’t got that first win yet but we are trying.

“We are progressing, we are growing in confidence – we are doing okay.

“Can we do better? Of course we can. We want to progress – people are forgetting we are on the way up.”

Albion are again able to call on Dara O’Shea tonight after the defender recovered from a kick to the ankle. Hal Robson-Kanu (arm) and Sam Field (knee) will again miss out though.
