Sam Johnstone
An impressive Premier League debut from the keeper who did everything asked of him. Johnstone made smart stops to deny both Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy. Left with no chance for any of Leicester’s goals, his kicking was also good.

Semi Ajayi
The Nigerian international showed plenty of signs he is ready to step up the Premier League. There as one moment where he was outpaced by Barnes in the build-up to the second penalty. But otherwise, Ajayi used his pace well to shackle the threat of Vardy.

Kyle Bartley
The defender has the ability needed to play at this level. But he has to cut out the mistakes if he is going to be a success in the top flight. The penalty he gave away for Leicester’s second was simply careless.

Dara o’Shea
For 45 minutes, O’Shea really impressed. Brendan Rodgers revealed post-match he told his players to double up on him at half-time due to the quality of his cross-field balls. After the interval he had some anxious moments which he will learn from. Was unfortunate with the penalty he conceded.

Darnell Furlong
Arguably Albion’s best outfield player, the right wing-back role really suited Furlong.
His duel with Justin James in the first half was one to savour and one with brought Albion joy. Also defended well.

Kieran Gibbs
Somewhat surprisingly, Gibbs didn’t adapt to the wing-back role as well as Furlong and looked like a player out of position. His usual calmness and composure on the ball wasn’t there with the 30-year-old offering very little going forward.

Romaine Sawyers
Sawyers found the going tough being outnumbered in central midfield. He started brightly, but too often Leicester players ran by him. Would benefit from being further forward with less defensive responsibility.

Jake Livermore
Created Albion’s best chance with a clever pass for Matheus Pereira. Livermore also proved to be a physical presence in the middle of the park – with the skipper making sure Leicester’s players knew he was there.

Matheus Pereira
Dangerous in spells, the Brazilian saw a free-kick flick off Barnes when goalbound. He also saw a low drive saved by the legs of Kasper Schmeichel. Will have more fruitful days.

Grady Diangana
The winger showed his quick feet on occasion and did the defensive side of his role well. Like Pereira, will have days where he is a lot more effective in the final third.

Callum Robinson
The Republic of Ireland international worked hard to ensure Albion pressed from the front. But he was isolated at times and was subbed on the hour.
