Jonathan Bond

Thrust into the limelight at the last moment because of a sickness bug laying Boaz Myhill low, and kept a clean sheet. Untroubled for most of the game, he made a smart save low down early on from Will Grigg, and looked solid with the ball at his feet. Can be proud of his debut. 7/10

Mason Holgate

An encouraging debut from the Everton loanee, who offered both defensive solidity and an attacking threat. Went close to scoring twice, including a lovely mazy run at the end of the first half. Did the simple things well, and deserves to keep his place at right-back for the Norwich game. 7/10

Kyle Bartley

Looked much more comfortable as a right-sided centre-half of a back four. Dominant in the air, and composed on the deck, he even sprayed three inch-perfect cross-field balls out to Bakary Sako in the first half. Set up Holgate with a towering header too. 7/10

Tosin Adarabioyo

A quietly composed and no-nonsense centre-back performance from the Manchester City loanee. Reassuringly plain, without the razzle dazzle he sometimes tries to bring to full-back. He looked far more at home in the middle. 7/10

Conor Townsend

Solid at the back and kept foraging forward. Would burst high up the left wing, allowing space for Brunt to drop into behind him. He remains a solid understudy to Kieran Gibbs. 7/10

Chris Brunt

Composed and effective on the ball, and controlled the first half with Wes Hoolahan. Nearly found the top corner with a free-kick before setting up Sako's goal with an inch-perfect cross. A captain's performance. 8/10

Rekeem Harper

His strength on the ball and power in transition is frightening for someone so young. Can muscle players off the ball with ease and then burst forward at pace. Exactly the dynamic midfielder Albion have been crying out for... 8/10

Sam Field

Lost possession a couple of times in the first half, when he was guilty of playing backwards too often, but grew into the game after half-time, and played with maturity in the second half to help see out the game. Needs more minutes to develop. 7/10

Jonathan Leko

What a joy it is to watch Leko's first touch, which is inevitably always an outrageous spin away from his man. The only issue is the final ball, which too often missed its mark. But if he can get that in tune, he will be some player. 7/10

Wes Hoolahan

The Irish Messi flourished as a false nine, dropping deep to pick up the ball in pockets of space, before whipping them out to free team-mates. Played with the hunger and desire of a much younger man. An infectious player, watching him makes you want to dust off your own boots. On this showing, he deserves a new contract until the end of the season. 8/10

Bakary Sako

Got a well-deserved goal, and might have had two were it not for an outrageous piece of defending from Chey Dunkley. Threatened throughout, although was sometimes guilty of trying to beat his man too many times. Still, it's fun to watch isn't it? 7/10
