Kyle Bartley, James Morrison and Hal Robson-Kanu are all back in training following their respective knocks.

But head coach Darren Moore will not take any risks ahead of a busy festive schedule which sees the Baggies play five games in 15 days.

“We’re pleased to have Kyle back in and around the squad,” said Moore.

“James Morrison had muscle soreness, Hal took the knock here against Brentford.

“All three have made great progress.

“In this division, where the games come thick and fast we don’t take any risks.

“They’re back in training but we’ll assess them.”

Bartley has been out with a knee injury since October, and has missed the last six games.

He will struggle to get back into the side following a change in system that has seen Craig Dawson and Ahmed Hegazi flourish as a centre-back pairing.

Robson-Kanu jarred his knee against Brentford earlier this month after a consecutive and successful run in the team.

He too may struggle to get back into the side following Dwight Gayle’s goal against Villa.

Morrison was one of the catalysts of Albion’s recent form, but Gareth Barry impressed in central midfield in his place.

“Gareth’s performance was exceptional,” said Moore. “Gareth’s got a lot of football to play for us from now until end of season.”
