Jones, who has been Roberto Martinez's long-running assistant, has left Belgium after helping guide them to a third-placed finish at the World Cup to join up with Moore at The Hawthorns.

The 48-year-old's arrival represents somewhat of a coup for Moore, who has managed to lure his former Doncaster Rovers team-mate away from international football.

Jones is a former striker and Moore hopes his attacking prowess will complement his own defensive capabilities on the training pitch.

"Graeme and I have never been out of contact since those first days together at Doncaster and I cannot tell you how delighted I am to have him alongside me," said Moore.

“He has all the right qualities as a man and all the right qualities as a coach.

"His attention to detail, his career record, and his qualities as a human being are exactly why I was determined he join me.

“He is an attack-minded coach and while I know what I want from our forward play, I believe Graeme can deliver that with precision.”

Moore has had Jones in mind for his assistant for weeks, but Belgium's lengthy run in the World Cup delayed matters before the Baggies boss insisted his new No.2 take a holiday.

However, Jones was at the club's Palm training ground today to help Moore prepare for Saturday's curtain-raiser against Bolton Wanderers.

“From a football perspective we need to get Albion back to where we should be," said Jones.

Jones completes Moore's backroom staff with James Shan already installed as first team coach and Neil Cutler staying on as goalkeeping coach.

Wayne Jacobs, who has been helping Moore since he was installed as a caretaker boss, is continuing his part-time coaching role at the club.
