Ben Foster and Craig Dawson training alone at West Brom's base

Ben Foster and Craig Dawson have been training on their own this week at Albion’s headquarters in Walsall.

Both players refused to go on Darren Moore’s pre-season training camp to Portugal amid interest from other clubs and concerns over Albion’s ambition.

Burnley and West Ham are interested in Dawson, although it’s believed the defender would prefer a move to Turf Moor.

It’s been reported that Watford have bid £1m for Foster, but it’s understood the Baggies have not received any offers for their keeper.

Although Foster and Dawson refused to go to Portugal, both have been coming into the Palm training ground this week for training.

With all the senior coaching staff away on a pre-season camp, the pair have been doing individual work both in the gym and out on the grass.

It’s believed Dawson is trying to force a move to Burnley following the club’s hard-line stance over his valuation.

The Baggies have rejected a £12m bid from West Ham as well as a joint-offer of £25m from Burnley for Dawson and Rodriguez. They want more than £20m for the defender.

Rodriguez is also keen on returning back to his boyhood club, but has not taken up the same protest as Dawson and has travelled to Portugal.

The striker is fond of Moore, who he knows from their time at Barnsley together, and appreciated both the head coach and the club standing by him during allegations of racism from Gaetan Bong last season that were not proven.

Foster’s protest is surprising considering he pledged his future to the club just two months ago, and also lobbied for Moore to be given the job full-time.

However, it’s believed many senior players have been unhappy with the conduct of technical consultant Giuliano Terraneo, who has since been sidelined by chief executive Mark Jenkins.

Albion’s squad are also concerned about the direction the club is heading after losing four players this summer and replacing none of them so far.

Elsewhere, League One Bradford City have signed goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell on a free transfer from Northampton Town after the Baggies turned their attention elsewhere.

The former Walsall keeper has agreed a two-year deal with the Bantams.
