The two defenders will be heading to Russia alongside Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who has been included in the final 23-man squad despite picking up a shoulder injury in the Champions League final.

Hegazi played more minutes for Albion than any other player last season following his loan move from Al Ahly last summer.

That move was made permanent in December for £4.5million and Hegazi is now contracted with the Baggies until 2022.

Gabr spent the second half of the season loan from Zamalek but did not feature at all for the Baggies.

Albion have an option to buy him for £1.1million this summer.

Egypt have been drawn in Group A, alongside hosts Russia, Saudia Arabia, and Uruguay.

Albion team-mate Nacer Chadli was named in the Belgium World Cup squad earlier today.
