Cutler, who joined the Baggies from Walsall in January, has been kept on in Darren Moore's backroom staff ahead of the upcoming campaign.

He played a significant role in the turnaround in form towards the end of the season, and wants the club to sign motivated players who will take a pro-active approach to training.

"It's massively important," he added. "It's not just about ability, it's about the right personalities and getting the right people in.

"We need players who are driven as much as we are. We need players who are going to knock on the door to push us, not just us pushing them.

"Players who are really motivated, driven and know the task at hand, it's a totally different season to last season.

"We're expected to win games and you've got to have the right types of people to do that.

"It's not going to be an easy ride, it's going to be a really tough season and we need players who are able to roll their sleeves up and have a right go."

Cutler was convinced during Moore's time in charge as caretaker that Albion's new head coach was destined for a strong career in management.

And everything's he's seen since the 44-year-old was appointed just over a week ago has backed up his initial reaction.

"He's so driven, so motivated and, like us all, wants to get it right," said Cutler, of Moore. "And we will get it right because there's going to be no stone left unturned.

"The little details are massive and that's what he works in, real detail. He'll make sure he's doing that now.

"Since the end of the season he's been in every day – morning, noon and night – trying to sort and organise things.

"It will be done, it will be done correctly to the best of our ability, so we'll move forward."
