West Brom 2 Liverpool 2 - Report and pictures

Albion roared back from 2-0 down against Liverpool with two goals in the last 11 minutes to extend Darren Moore's unbeaten start as caretaker boss to three games.

Danny Ings's fourth-minute goal had given Jurgen Klopp's men a 1-0 lead they held until the 72nd minute, when Mohamed Salah doubled it with his 41st goal of the season.

That looked to have killed the game but Jake Livermore pulled one back seven minutes later with his first Albion goal before Salomon Rondon nodded in an 88th-minute equaliser to reach double figures for the season.

Albion have lost 26 points from winning positions this season, it's a campaign that's been epitomised by late goals. But normally they are for the opposition.

The Baggies faithful, who created a raucous atmosphere at this lunch-time kick-off, have seen their team squander two-goal leads at The Hawthorns on more than one occasion this season.

But there is a renewed fight under Moore, a self-belief that has not been seen for most of this season, and Albion dragged this result out of the depths to send their home crowd happy.

It was nothing more than they deserved over the course of the game, which was even in the most part before that remarkable end.

Following last weekend's heroics at Old Trafford, Moore named an unchanged starting XI, which left club captain Jonny Evans on the bench following his return from knee injury.

With Daniel Sturridge ineligible against his parent club, Hal Robson-Kanu took his place among the substitutes.

Klopp made five changes to his line-up with Tuesday's Champions League semi-final in mind, but it was still a strong team that included 40-goal Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and £75m centre-back Virgil Van Dijk.

But instead of Salah it was one of Liverpool's fringe players, Danny Ings, who showed his predatory instincts just four minutes in.

After Sadio Mane skipped past Jay Rodriguez too easily on the byline, his cross was controlled in the six yard box by Georginio Wijnaldum with his back to goal.

Ings reacted quickest, and pounced on the loose ball to emphatically smash home his first Premier League goal in 930 days.

The Hawthorns had been bouncing at the start, but after last weekend's heroics that goal brought everyone back down to earth with a bump.

Salah fired a warning shot ten minutes in, using lightning quick feet to jink past his compatriot Ahmed Hegazi before seeing his curled effort deflected over the bar.

Despiite conceding the early goal, Albion were matching their opponents in the opening stages, and were finding joy playing Matt Phillips in behind the space Alberto Moreno was leaving.

And just like last week, Liverpool were struggling to deal with Craig Dawson at corners.

Early in the half he headed one of Brunt's deliveries back across goal, only to see the flag go up for Jake Livermore, and then 10 minutes before the break he was inches away from connecting with an inch-perfect one from Phillips.

Albion finished the first half strongly, and were forcing Liverpool into mistakes at the back.

They came millimetres away from equalising in the 38th minute with a glorious move that started when Hegazi clipped a ball out to Allan Nyom on the right touchline.

He chested it down and found Livermore's run forward, who then curled an inviting cross to the back post where McClean flashed a first-time volley from a narrow angle right across the goalline.

Inches left and it would have gone inside the post, inches right and Rodriguez would have tucked it home.

But Liverpool can strike at speed and just before the break Ings was only denied a second thanks to a point-blank save from the in-form Foster after a cross-field to Joe Gomez had caught McClean out.

Liverpool started the second half on top, and had an ambitious penalty shout waved away when Ings ran into Dawson and went over after the ball had gone.

Salah nearly created an opening with a neat one-two before Kieran Gibbs managed to get a toe in whilst on the floor,

At the other end, Phillips was continuing to cause problems down the right, where he had the beating of Moreno, but his crosses continued to evade the men in the middle.

Just before the hour mark he made another piercing run through two Liverpool players from the touchline to the byline but once again, his pull-back found a man in red rather than blue and white.

In between those chances, Hegazi gave Ings a jab to the ribs while the Liverpool goalscorer was on the floor, but Attwell didn't see it.

The Egyptian was having an odd game, epitomised by his decision to spend a period of play on the right wing when Nyom inadvertantly passed the ball to Salah. Thankfully, Brunt tracked back and cleared the danger.

Albion were in the game with the score at 1-0, but with 20 minutes to go, Moore made a baffling substitution that immediately backfired.

He removed McClean in favour of club captain Jonny Evans in order to switch to a back three but moments later Liverpool tore through Albion's back line with consummate ease.

The Baggies were all over the place at the back and Firmino beat Evans to the ball before Oxlade-Chamberlain slipped a simple ball through to Salah.

He lifted it over Foster coolly to reach 41 goals for the season and 31 in the league, equalling the Premier League record for a 38-game season.

That looked to have ended the game as a competition, but seven minutes later Albion pulled one back from a corner.

Brunt's ball to the back post wreaked havoc, and when Dawson's shot was saved by Karius, Livermore was on hand to tucked home the rebound from close range to notch his first Albion goal.

But that was not just a consolation, and it gave this new-look Baggies belief.

Two minutes from time, Rondon got in front of his man at the near post and nodded in Brunt's perfect free-kick with Karius stranded in no-man's land.

It may not change the fact Albion are going down, but it was a remarkable finish that epitomised the fight instilled in the team by Moore over the past few weeks.
