West Brom's charity arm The Albion Foundation being celebrated this weekend

After all the chaos and controversy of this season, it can be easy to forget there are scores of good people associated with Albion.

But that will come to the fore this Saturday, when The Albion Foundation's inspirational work in the local community will once again be celebrated at The Hawthorns.

Nearly 300 people work or volunteer for the charity arm of the club, and they help thousands of people in the surrounding area.

On Saturday, the Foundation's title-winning blind team will walk out onto the pitch at half-time, and there will also be a special themed Fanzone before kick-off.

Legendary Albion players Brendon Batson and Bob Taylor are part of a team cycling from Swansea to The Hawthorns for the game against Carlos Carvalhal's men.

There will also be a chance to sign up for the 5km 'Blind Dave Colour Run', which is this year being dedicated to the memory of both Cyrille Regis and former mascot Richard Eades, who have both sadly passed on.

Foundation Director Rob Lake said: "Saturday is an opportunity to thank all 75 full-time staff, 104 part-time staff, 100-plus volunteers, trustees, football club staff and partner organisations for their wonderful contribution this year.

"I am honoured and privileged to be leading such an amazing team of people.

"This job gives me immense satisfaction and a sense of perspective on life.

"As I visit our many projects and see the immense struggles of some of our young people, the difficulties they face it does give me that reality check on our perceived problems and issues.

"We were all shocked and devastated losing Cyrille and Richard and we want to play our part in creating a legacy in their name by encouraging fans to check on their health and well-being and get active by taking part in the fun run."

The club will be releasing more information about the Foundation Day throughout the week.

Junior tickets (U17) for this weekend's clash with Swansea have been reduced to £5, while season ticket holders can bring a friend for £15.

Tickets are now on general sale.
