Ally Robertson: Just no respect left at West Brom

Another loss, another tepid performance and yet more signs there is no respect in the Baggies dressing room.

Albion managed to disappoint once again in their 4-1 loss to Leicester last weekend, writes Ally Robertson.

They went 1-0 up, they had a chance to go 2-0 up. But in the end they were thumped 4-1 on home turf.

If things then couldn’t get any worse, Grzegorz Krychowiak also refused to shake the hand of Alan Pardew when he was substituted.

It showed he has no respect for the manager. But I don’t think the players even respect each other.

In my day, there was no chance a player would publicly disrespect their manager in the way Krychowiak did.

But if there was any dissent shown, we – the players – would have sorted it out.

We had a team of leaders and you could guarantee somebody would step forward so that no situation would get out of hand.

The dressing room when I was a player was the life and soul of the party.

We were such a tight-knit group. We were from different areas but nowadays the players are all from different worlds.

It must be very hard to get everyone working together because they have all had such difference life experiences.

But at the end of the day that is the manager’s job. And all the players get paid very well to go out and perform on the field.

It really is about time they put some pride back into the shirt.

On Saturday, I looked at us and we weren’t closing down quickly enough.

But all the teams in the Premier League have quality, they can play a 50-yard pass that sees the ball move as quick as a bullet.

You cannot just sit back and let them play. Opposing teams certainly close us down quickly enough.

It’s just not good enough. Look, we all know we are going down.

But we have got to show more fight in closing weeks of the season – that’s the very least fans deserve.
