Ostersunds chairman: Graham Potter won't join West Brom

Ostersunds chairman Daniel Kindberg says eye-catching manager Graham Potter will not be joining Albion as head coach.

Graham Potter has caught the eye at Ostersunds.

Potter, who used to play for the Baggies, has been linked with the club in the eventuality that current head coach Alan Pardew is sacked.

It's understood the 42-year-old from Solihull, who has taken Ostersunds from the fourth tier of Swedish football to the Europa League, would be keen on the move.

But his current chairman insists Potter will only leave his club if a one of Europe's big clubs came calling.

"He's not going anywhere," Kindberg told the Swedish press. He was then asked if that stood should Albion offer a huge sum of money.

"They can not afford him. Should he go to a club then he will go to one of Europe's big clubs.

"Why go to a small club in the first or second league, that's useless.

"They kick the managers out every other week there. It does not work. He goes to a big club where they have class."

Ostersunds beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last night in the second leg of their Europa League tie, but went out on aggregate goals.

Pardew is under pressure just 12 weeks into his tenure following one win in 13 league games and off-field controversies.
