West Brom youngster Rayhaan Tulloch heads to Algarve Tournament with England

Promising teenager Rayhaan Tulloch has been named in the England under-17 squad for the prestigious Algarve Tournament which kicks off later this week.

The striker, who recently turned 17, is travelling to Faro ahead of England’s games with hosts Portugal, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Tulloch has been featuring regularly for the under-23s this season an was promoted to the senior squad in December, when he was an unused substitute for Albion’s trip to Swansea.

On Saturday, he scored for the under-18s in a 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

The Young Lions are using the Algarve Tournament as preparation for this summer’s European U17 Championships, which are being held in England in May.

The Baggies have high hopes for Tulloch, who was last year promoted from England U16s to England U17s.

Albion academy Manager Mark Harrison said: “We’re really pleased that Rayhaan has been called up into the England set-up.

“He’s put in some great performances so far this season for our youth teams and now has the chance to test himself on an international level.”
