Fans come together to follow Baggies abroad

A new travel club aimed at bringing Albion fans closer together when their team plays overseas has been launched.

Supporters of the Baggies travelled to watch their team in Hong Kong last summer

The Baggies Abroad Travel Service (BATS), will be run for the fans, by the fans, but with support from the club. It is the brainchild of regular overseas followers led by Dean Walton, a lifelong supporter and author of various Albion books.

“It’s an idea that sprang from last summer’s trip to Hong Kong when there was a tremendous bond between all the Baggies fans who were out there and with the club itself,” said Walton.

“It’s a largely social idea but also capable of relaying really useful information. By joining the group we can help fans with travel advice, meeting points, ticket advice and such like.”

The BATS committee will be made up entirely of die-hard Albion supporters, assisted by the club’s supporters liaison officer James Mackay.

Any fans interested in joining simply have to register their details of how they would like to be contacted by email to matthew.dainty@wbafc.co.uk
