The 49-year-old joined the club in February 2015, shortly after Pulis was made head coach.

Current head coach Alan Pardew is planning to replace him in the near future.

Andy Woodman, who was Pardew's goalkeeping coach at West Ham, Charlton Athletic, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, is favourite to take up the role.

He is currently at Arsenal coaching the under-18 and under-23 goalkeepers.

Mark Naylor, the club’s Professional Development Phase goalkeeping coach, will step into the role of first-team goalkeeping coach for this weekend’s FA Cup tie at Exeter.

Pulis's long-term assistant Dave Kemp has come out of retirement and also rejoined Pulis at Boro.

Kemp retired in the summer and was replaced at Albion by Gary Megson.
