Jay Rodriguez doesn't need to change his game, insists Tony Pulis

Tony Pulis hasn't told Jay Rodriguez to be more streetwise after the Albion striker was unfairly robbed a penalty against Arsenal on Monday.

The former Southampton man, who got straight back to his feet after Shkodran Mustafi tripped him in the box, insisted after the game that he wouldn't start rolling around.

And Pulis is just as happy for Rodriguez to keep up his honest approach to the game.

When the Baggies boss was asked if he'd spoken to the Burnley-born forward and asked him to change his game, he said: "No not at all.

"He’s got up had a shot and its hit the post. Another day, if it’s gone in we wouldn’t be talking about this.

"But it didn’t and we thought the incident should have been brought back and we should have had a penalty.

"It’s not the first time we haven’t got what we thought we deserved or the first time the other club hasn’t got what it thought it deserved.

"It’s a fact of life. After a few days you cool down and take a better view on it."

Pulis criticised the decisions referee Bobby Madley made in the aftermath of Monday's defeat at the Emirates Stadium, but he has since calmed down.

"Me and you are the best referees and the best players when we are sitting in the stands watching a game of football," he said. "The referees are out there and have got to make split decisions on the day.

"Yes I was disappointed on the day. But Bobby Madley has managed our games and done fantastic in some of those games and been very good.

"I think he’s had a bad day and everything moves on. I’m sure he’ll look at it and take a view and have his own personal view on it, but everything moves on and we have to move on."
