Jonathan Leko's dancing feet have been hailed by Bristol City boss Lee Johnson after he won a crucial penalty in their 4-1 win over Derby County on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Albion winger, who is on a season-long loan at the Robins, turned Rams defender Richard Keogh in knots before he was tripped in the box.

The score was 1-1 at the time, but Bobby Reid converted the penalty before City went on to score two more goals.

Leko has started the last two games for the Championship club, and the youngster’s quick feet have been praised by Johnson.

“He’s like Michael Flatly isn’t he? The Lord of the Dance,” Johnson told the Bristol Post. “I thought he was outstanding.

“I asked him to go gung-ho for 60-70 minutes, however long he had in him, and he sort of powered it. He’d be horrible to play against, wouldn’t he?

“He’s quick, he’s strong, he’s unorthodox and he’s a bit like a [Yannick] Bolasie-type.

“His fast-twitch fibres are so quick it’s difficult to get near him and you saw that with the penalty.”

And the Bristol boss is hoping Leko will get even better as the season wears on.

“He’s a young boy remember,” said the Bristol boss. “He’s only 18. He’s got a bit of work to do on certain parts of his game.

“But the lads have all rallied round and look after him, and if he can create great moments like that then he’ll be a great signing.”
