The 20-year-old limped off 18 minutes into Monday's under-23s match at The Hawthorns with a tight hamstring.

The former RB Leipzig winger was then taken for a scan on Tuesday afternoon to assess the damage.

It revealed nothing worrying and Burke, who came off the bench at Brighton last weekend and set up James Morrison's goal, will now be re-assessed nearer the game.

Despite that, Baggies boss Tony Pulis doesn't intend to take any risks with the youngster because he has plenty of options in midfield.

James McClean has returned from the illness that forced him to miss the squad photo earlier this week and will be available.

Nacer Chadli missed last weekend's match with a slight muscle strain, but the Belgian is nearing a return, and like Burke, faces a late fitness test.
