The 37-year-old centre-back, who aggravated a thigh problem on international duty with Northern Ireland in June, has not featured in any games so far this season after missing all of the pre-season friendlies.

He is one of several first-team players set to feature against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League 2 fixture, two days after the senior squads met on the south coast.

Oliver Burke, who came off the bench and set up James Morrison’s goal at the Amex Stadium, is expected to play, as are central midfielders Claudio Yacob and Sam Field.

Pulis was also contemplating giving left-back Kieran Gibbs more minutes, but decided against it. Entry for the fixture is free for season-ticket holders, with tickets available on the gate for £5 adults and £1 concessions.
