'Rugged' Grzegorz Krychowiak and 'Rolls Royce' Kieran Gibbs not guaranteed starts for West Brom

Tony Pulis has been impressed with new signings Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kieran Gibbs, but admitted he may not throw both into his starting line-up at Brighton tomorrow.

The Baggies boss described left-back Gibbs, who joined from Arsenal for £5m, as a 'Rolls Royce' player who will excite supporters.

Defensive midfielder Krychowiak, who is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, is more 'rugged' but technically just as good.

Both signings have a chance of making their debuts at the Amex Stadium tomorrow, but they're not guaranteed to start.

The Baggies have won three and drawn one of their opening four games of the season, in all competitions, and Pulis says Krychowiak and Gibbs are lacking match fitness.

"The big decision this week is Grzegorz and Kieran," said Pulis. "Grzegorz has not played any competitive football and neither has Kieran. Do we start with the two of them?

"Do we give them a little bit more time? Do we play one and leave the other one out? That's the big decision.

"They are fit, it's just whether it is right, and I will be speaking to the two lads before I make that decision."

Out of the two, Krychowiak is more likely to start, because Pulis wants Gibbs to bulk up first with Albion's strength and conditioning team.

But he is excited about the England international left-back.

"Grzegorz is a top player but he's nowhere near the level he wants to be at the moment and Gibbs is exactly the same, because they haven't played much football," said Pulis.

"They are different types. Gibbs is a Rolls Royce type of player, he has fantastic pace and ability and I'm sure he'll be a player the supporters will like a lot.

"Grzegorz is a little bit more rugged, but technically very, very good as well.

"We just need to speak to the medical people and see where they are at the moment.

"To throw them straight into a Premier League game - we will have to see if that's the right thing to do or not."
