Tony Pulis wants to add another four players to his squad this window on top of £15m winger Oliver Burke.

The Baggies announced the 20-year-old's arrival from RB Leipzig this morning but Pulis is still hoping to do a 'hell of a lot' of business before the window shuts next Thursday.

He is still in the market for a new centre-back, regardless of whether in-demand captain Jonny Evans leaves for Manchester City or not. And that's not the only area he's looking to bolster.

"We've got Oliver in now and there's four other positions we'd like to bring players in," said Pulis, who was then asked if one of those positions was at the heart of defence.

"Whether Jonny goes or not, that is one of the areas we're looking to fill," he replied.

Albion had a £15m deal for Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer ready for Pulis to green light last week, but the Baggies boss has cooled on the defender for now.

Stoke have now made a £15m bid for the Austrian, while Crystal Palace are also keen.

Pulis has also been interested in Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson this summer, although the Championship club have driven all suitors away this summer with a £25m price tag.

Pulis said: "I can say Wimmer, I can say Gibson, I can go on to somebody else, at the moment nothing's been done with anybody so we can't talk about it."

Despite signing Gareth Barry and Burke in the last two weeks, the Baggies boss is predicting a hectic last week of the window for Albion.

And he doesn't expect to be travelling back home to Bournemouth in that time.

"These two weeks are always stressful for managers, football clubs, players, supporters and everyone else," said Pulis.

"You're more aware of what's going on, you're more aware of the finances involved, you're more aware of looking after players, and the squad, and keeping it on an even keel.

"I usually go home every weekend but I didn't go home last weekend. I doubt if I'll go home this weekend again because you just want to see it through as smoothly as you possibly can.

"Fingers crossed we'll be able to do that and we'll come out of the backside of it with great success.

"They’re talking about next year closing the window before the season starts. I think all the stuff we’ve had and the nonsense surrounding the (Nacer) Chadli situation and Jonny (Evans) situation and other players as well, it doesn’t make it any easier.

"It’s a sensible judgement to actually call it a day and close it before the season starts.

"Then everyone can focus on the most important thing and that’s winning football matches."
