The Baggies boss is heading to Guangzhou on Monday with chairman John Williams, chief executive Martin Goodman, and director of football administration Richard Garlick.

Once there, Pulis and the board will discuss the summer transfer budget with owner Guochuan Lai, and when they return on Wednesday, Albion will start pursuing their targets in earnest.

Although Pulis already has players in mind like Watford striker Troy Deeney and Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor, Albion's recruitment department, which is run by technical director Nick Hammond, will also put names forward.

"There’s lots of agents of players enjoying a bit of publicity and throwing players at different clubs," said Pulis. "We’ve got bucket loads of suggestions from agents about who we should be signing and not signing. We’ll trawl through it.

"We spend a lot of money and the recruitment side. And there’s four or five people down there who work non-stop analysing players and leagues and everything else.

"We’ll go through it and try and get the best we can."

The club have recently been linked with 19-year-old Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru and 24-year-old River Plate striker Lucas Alario.

Pulis is also considering signing former England captain John Terry in defence.

"The two centre-forwards you’ve just mentioned, John Terry, every Tom, Dick and Harry, you can talk about them," he said. "Whether we can do the deals and whether they’ll be right for us or right for the players (is another thing).

"The most important thing is to find out what we've got to spend and what ambitions the club have got to push on."

"We're going to China on Monday and having a meeting Mr Lai to find out exactly what they’ve got and their views going forward. That’s very important.

"We’ll have a good discussion about what we think will be available and costs. Hopefully it will be a good couple of days hopefully."

Albion travel to Swansea City on Sunday after last night's result at the King Power Stadium all-but guaranteed the club a top ten finish.

Unless there is an 11-goal swing with West Ham or Leicester beat Bournemouth by one goal and the Baggies lose by six, Pulis will finish in the top-half of the Premier League for the first time in his career.

But the head coach is keen to finish on a high note after eight games without a win.

He said: "The games at the back end of the season, the results have been disappointing but apart from maybe one or two games, the players have given everything.

"They have been a little bit unfortunate not to get anything. We could still finish eighth with that win which would be an absolutely fantastic achievement for this football club, the players, and everybody associated with the football side."

Gareth McAuley and Salomon Rondon face late fitness tests ahead of Sunday's game but Matt Phillips is expected to sit out with his hamstring injury.
