The Baggies bounced back from two defeats to stun the Gunners at The Hawthorns and now they welcome Jurgen Klopp’s team to the Black Country on the back of two losses.

Assistant head coach Ben Garner says no team in the league are as unpredictable as Liverpool, but the victory over Arsenal has given the Baggies belief they can win

“They’re a fantastic team, got wonderful players with wonderful ability and a proven top European manager,” said Garner. “Similar to the Arsenal game really, we’d had two disappointing results, and probably the one we weren’t expected to pick points up in we did. Hopefully that can repeat itself against Liverpool.

“They’re different teams with different styles. Liverpool are probably the most creative team in the league in terms of their movement. They’re very unpredictable, players that can unlock the door any moment.

“Manchester United and Arsenal are a little bit more structured in their play, Liverpool have got more freedom in that final third to express themselves. It’s a different game in that respect but we need to apply ourselves in the same way as we did against United and Arsenal. We need to concentrate for 90 minutes and hopefully take at least a point.”

Wayward finishing means the Baggies haven’t scored in any of their last three games, but Garner thinks the goals will come soon.

“We’re creating the chances and getting into the positions,” he said. “There have been other games this season where we’ve had nine shots and scored three, we had 18 against Southampton and don’t score. We’ll keep our heads up and keep doing the right things and if you do that, sooner or later the goals will go in.”
