The defender, who arrived at Bescot on loan from Championship outfit Norwich City in January, made 13 appearances in League Two this term.

Adegboyega scored three times in his first four league appearances for the Saddlers and was subsequently named EFL Young Player of the Year for February.

Following the expiration of his loan, the Irishman took to Instagram to reflect on his experience at Bescot.

He wrote: “First and foremost, I would like to thank Walsall for giving me the opportunity to develop and learn here.

“I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I would also like to thank the supporters for the continuous support for myself and the team throughout the season.

“I am grateful to have played with a team of fantastic players and under a great staff. I wish you all the best for next season.”

David Okagbue and Mo Faal have also penned a message of thanks to the supporters.

Defender Okagbue played 37 times across all competitions following his loan switch from Stoke City on transfer deadline day in September.

“It’s been a pleasure to play for Walsall. Thank you to all the players, staff and fans for making this season so special. Loved every minute of it and have learned a lot from the experience. UTS,” Okagbue said.

Albion loanee Faal, who netted nine times on loan at Doncaster Rovers during the first half of the season, added six more to his tally at Walsall, including four in his final seven outings.

Faal added: “My first season in the EFL, full of ups and downs, has come to an end and I want to give a special thank you to all the players, staff and supporters for making it a memorable experience for me.”
