Gater has chosen to join Gary Hackett’s team despite fielding interest from several other clubs this summer following his departure from Worcester City.

The 24-year-old spent three months at Stourbridge last season and featured in the first, second, and third rounds of the club’s famous FA Cup run.

Although he suffered from a toe injury during his loan spell, he has since had surgery on the problem and expects to be fit in time for the Evo-Stik Northern Premier season.

A former England schoolboys under-18 international, he joined Worcester in 2014 after spells at Halesowen Town, Sporting Khalsa and Gornal Athletic.
