Aston Villa confirm US return ahead of 2025-26 season
Villa have announced they will head to the USA for the third straight summer as part of their preparations for next season.

Unai Emery’s team are expected to play three friendly matches across the pond with two of the dates already confirmed.
Villa will take on St Louis City at the Major League Soccer club’s Energizer Park on Wednesday, July 30 (kick-off 7.30pm local time), before travelling to play Nashville SC on Saturday, August 2 (kick-off 7pm local time).
A further fixture, which will precede both matches, is expected to be added to the schedule in the coming weeks.
The US has become a frequent destination for Villa in pre-season since the takeover by Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens seven years ago.
In addition to offering players the chance to train in a warm climate, the visits are considered a useful way of boosting the club’s brand across the Atlantic.
After first visiting the USA in 2019, Villa returned in 2023 to play in the Premier League Summer Series on the east coast.
Last summer they played in Ohio, New York and Chicago. In each of the last two years, Villa have held their training camp close to Washington DC.
Though the current season still has more than a fortnight left to run, plans for pre-season are well advanced and Villa have also confirmed the date of their traditional friendly at neighbours Walsall.
That will take place on Wednesday, July 16 (kick-off 7.30pm), while Emery’s men will also head to Germany and play Hansa Rostock three days later (July 19). The match, which kicks off at 4pm local time, is part of the Third Division club’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
Ticket details for all matches, both those in the UK and abroad, will be announced in due course.
