Unai Emery remains hopeful Marcus Rashford will play again for Villa this season.

The on loan Manchester United star is currently in Dubai at a warm weather training camp as he recovers from the hamstring injury which forced him out of last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace.

Rashford is definitely out of Saturday’s home match with Fulham but Emery is yet to rule him out of the club’s following games against Bournemouth and Tottenham.

The latter, due to take place on Sunday May 18, is thought to be the one game the 27-year-old has a slim chance of making. He is unable to play in Villa’s final match of the season the following weekend, which is against parent club United.

“For tomorrow, he is not available,” said Emery, speaking on Friday.

“He is working his comeback as soon as possible, but it is still weeks to be available or not with us for the rest of the season.

“Of course, there are four weeks left, and hopefully he will play with us one or two matches.”

Emery, as has been the case throughout Rashford’s loan, refused to discuss his future beyond the end of the season.

Villa have the option to buy the England international for £40million, though their chances of signing him may well depend on Champions League qualification.

Asked whether he could see Rashford being at Villa Park next season, Emery replied: “Tomorrow, Fulham. Tomorrow, Fulham.

“We don't want to finish the season. We don't want holiday. We want to play.

“And hopefully he can help us. And of course, he's recovering with us here. I want to see him happy. Play, get our objective, and then, of course, we will speak about everything.”
