Unai Emery has urged supporters to stick with Villa as they chase a Champions League return over the final four matches of the season.

Claiming a top-five finish is now the primary target for Emery and his players after last weekend’s FA Cup exit to Crystal Palace.

Villa host Fulham on Saturday, knowing a win would at the very least take them close to securing European football for the third straight season.

The visitors sit one place and six points behind the seventh-placed hosts in the table.

Emery said: “We have to keep going. To play in Europe consistently is the next objective and the priority when I arrived here.

“This message I send to supporters is to be consistent in Europe and try to play for a trophy.”

Villa are unbeaten in 19 home matches in all competitions and have not lost in the Premier League in B6 since the opening game of the season against Arsenal.

After Fulham, they travel to Bournemouth before hosting Tottenham and then going to Manchester United on the final day of the campaign.

Emery said: “We will need against Fulham next week every supporter and every fan trying to be close with us and supporting us.

“We need to try to get again our full energy playing the last four matches in the Premier League to try and get our objective again to play in Europe.”
