The French club progressed through the quarter-final tie 5-4 on aggregate after almost blowing a four-goal advantage in Tuesday’s second leg.
PSG appeared in cruise control after goals from Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes put them 5-1 up in the tie.
But Villa came roaring back through Youri Tielemans, John McGinn and Ezri Konsa, with Gianluigi Donnarumma making several key saves to preserve the advantage.
Speaking afterward Enrique said: “I didn’t think we’d be knocked out at any moment because Villa never managed to equalise the tie but for 10 minutes we really suffered.
“I don’t think this team has been so dominated by another team in that way.”
“But the opponent has to take risks, so they attacked with a lot of intensity, in front of a great crowd but moments like this makes our team better and we’ll improve with the experience.”
Donnarumma had denied Marcus Rashford with a flying save moments before Ezri Konsa brought Villa back to within a goal.
The Italy international then saved from Tielemans and Marco Asensio, the latter of whom was facing his parent club.
Enrique conceded his team may have been guilty of complacency having assumed such a strong position in the tie.
He said: “At 2-0 we went to a point in the game where it became too easy and we got over-confident.
“It gave Villa a chance and they had nothing to lose and were ready to take a risk.
“The goal gave them a way back in. They’re a very strong team in the air and they were sending balls into our box and that’s not our game, we’re a small team.
“It’s positive we managed to overcome that and the end of the game was more positive and I take lots of positives from this game.”
