Kamara was the fifth Villa player in consecutive matches to be forced off in the first half when he exited Saturday’s 1-1 draw with 10-man Ipswich in the 16th minute.

Emery said he did not know why the Frenchman had needed to come off but added: “I think it is not a lot.”

The manager admitted the point was “not enough” for Villa after a frustrating afternoon against the Tractor Boys.

Villa played the majority of the match with a man advantage after their former loanee Axel Tuanzebe was sent-off for two bookable offences five minutes before the break.

But it was the visitors who then took the lead when Liam Delap turned home and though Ollie Watkins levelled for the home side, they could not find a winner.

Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer pulled off a string of superb saves and Emery said: “After the sending off, the match changed completely.

“After this situation, we created more and made chances. They scored a fantastic goal, making our comeback more difficult.

“After the equaliser, we had chances to score, but their goalkeeper made some saves. We have to accept it, how they were performing.

“They avoided our chances to score and we had a lot of corners too. This point is not enough for us, but we have to move forward thinking how we can improve and get better to reduce the gap to the teams in front of us.”
