Marcus Rashford set for big Aston Villa welcome as FA Cup clash nears sell-out
Villa new boys Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are poised to be welcomed by a capacity crowd on debut with Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Tottenham nearing a sell-out.
The club has confirmed all general admission tickets for the fourth round tie have been snapped up, with only those in hospitality areas remaining.
Rashford and Asensio are both expected to feature against Spurs, though deadline day signing Axel Disasi cannot play having already featured for Chelsea in the competition.
The centre-back, whose loan switch was confirmed in the early hours of Tuesday morning, played in the London club’s third round win over Morecambe.
Villa, criticised for the cost of Champions League match tickets, have significantly reduced prices for domestic cup ties with general admission set at £25.
Unai Emery’s men are now set to get the biggest backing possible as they look to become the first Villa team in a decade to reach the fifth round of the Cup.
Villa are hoping Rashford and Asensio can get quickly up to speed having featured little for parent clubs Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.
Rashford has not played since December 12, while Asensio has only one brief substitute appearance to his name since December 6.
Ollie Watkins is a doubt for Villa after being forced out of last Saturday's defeat at Wolves by a groin issue.
