The Duke of Cambridge is hoping to support Villa at Wembley this weekend.

HRH The Duke of Cambridge was too busy to attend the FA Cup final over the weekend due to the royal wedding, but after speaking with one young Villa fan he'll be doing his best to show up at Wembley this time around.

In a video posted on Twitter, Prince William is seen chatting with a young fan about the Claret and Blues, claiming that he is trying to get to the game - which could see Steve Bruce's side promoted to the Premier League.

After greeting the youngster, he asks if he was going to the game, before admitting he's planning on making the occasion.

"I'm going to try and go next weekend. Were you quite nervous watching some of the other games? I was. I think Fulham are quite good though." he says.

"Do you think we're going to do it? I hope so."

Reports claim that Aston Villa have issued an invite to the Duke of Cambridge, an avid fan, who most recently appeared at Villa Park alongside former striker John Carew as the club beat Cardiff 1-0.
