Alex Palmer 7

Had to make a handful of simple saves, but one in the first half to get John Swift out of jail and deny Jeremy Sarmineto was just textbook Alex Palmer. Had one dodgy moment in the second half when a stray pass out almost led to a Burnley chance.

Darnell Furlong 7

On the whole he did well. Defensively did almost everything right and pulled off a superb defensive header in the first half. Probably didn't see enough of him going forward.

Mason Holgate 7

Superb. Him and Heggem have gelled immediately. Looks assured in possession, can pick a pass, wins all his headers and his eye for a long pass to get Albion in behind is a real asset that the other central defenders don't have.

Torbjorn Heggem 7

Neck and neck with Grant for Albion's best player this season. Was superb yet again, calm on the ball, good in the air and strangely created one of Albion's best chances late on for Diangana.

Callum Styles 7

Getting better game by game. Good on the ball, got forward well and had an effort from distance go just over. Did get caught out for the disallowed goal, which was an area that Burnley targeted.

Jayson Molumby 6

In the first half he justified his recall, getting around the pitch well, linking down the right with Fellows and showing superb energy. Like many, just faded in the second period.

Alex Mowatt 6

The midfield general got caught in possession a couple of times in the first half. Although he did keep it ticking, he was quiet and unable to have as much influence as he usually likes.

Karlan Grant 8

Excellent again. Albion's best player all evening. Just oozing confidence after a superb return to the club. Had two blocked efforts in the first and produced a lovely back heel to set Styles away. Got forward and crossed well and looked as sharp when he went central.

John Swift 5

Had a massive chance in the opening minutes that he blazed over and put in a delicious free kick that no one attacked. Almost gifted Burnley a goal though as Jeremy Sarmiento pounced on his slack pass but he was denied. Decision making questionable, and was booked after losing the ball before being hooked.

Tom Fellows 6

Better than in previous outings. Beat the full back a couple of times in the first half, but was still quieter than his usual self. In the second half he couldn't find any space to really make a difference.

Josh Maja 6

An okay evening for the forward. Did some decent stuff, holding the ball well. But Albion need him higher. Twice they put superb balls into the danger zone in the six yard box and he wasn't there. Whether a chance of system will help that I don't know, but they need him in those areas.

Substitutes

64: Mikey Johnston for Swift 5 - Could not make any impact on the game

64 Uros Racic for Mowatt 5 - Like Johnston could not make an impact.

82 - Grady Diangana for Maja - N/A

87 - Devante Cole for Grant - N/A
