Villa are represented by Keinan Davis, and he put in a stunning performance to get the best of ex-Liverpool defender Jose Enrique, beating the Spaniard 6-1.

Meanwhile, Wolves' Morgan Gibbs-White took control in gold and black, but failed to get the better of Brighton's Aaron Connolly - losing 3-0.

Gibbs-White's game did encounter technical difficulties with moments remaining, however with the result out of question the game was awarded to Brighton.

John McGinn had taken the reins in the first tournament for Villa, but exited in the opening round, whilst Diogo Jota won the competition for Wolves, beating Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final.

However, Davis had no trouble despatching his opening opponent, and will face Charlie Taylor or Phil Foden in the next round later on this week.

Aaron Connolly will face either Jofra Archer (representing Manchester United) or Sheffield United's John Egan in the quarter-finals after besting Gibbs-White.

Elsewhere in the competition, Spurs' Ryan Sessegnon is due to face Max Aarons of Norwich, whilst one first round match is still to be played after James Maddison and Callum Wilson saw their game postponed.

Fans can tune in live to games online, with the Premier League Youtube channel hosting coverage, whilst games are also available on Sky Sports' digital channels and BBC iPlayer.

The finals day will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
