Wolves

Wolves have reportedly travelled across the Atlantic to beat their competitors to the signing of Edson Alvarez.

The Mexican defender was part of his nation's Gold Cup winning squad, and is thought to be of interest to Ajax, West Ham and Crystal Palace - alongside Wolves.

Reports in Europe claim that Wolves are trying to steal a march in the race for the promising centre-back - with Ajax seeing Alvarez as a replacement for outbound Matthijs de Ligt.

Real Zaragoza are reportedly desperate to sign Wolves forward Rafa Mir before the summer is out.

The 22-year-old striker was shipped out on-loan by Wolves last season, after struggling to find a way into the first-team plans at Molineux.

Reports suggest that despite his high wages for a club like Zaragoza, the side are trying to sort out a deal which could allow the striker to link up with the Segunda Division outfit.

West Brom

West Brom are one of the outsiders to sign Chelsea defender Michael Hector this summer, according to the bookmakers.

The 26-year-old centre back, who can also play in defensive midfield, is being linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge with little chance of him breaking into the first-team squad at the club.

Former loan club Sheffield Wednesday lead the race with the bookies at 10/11, with Fulham, Reading and Leeds all ahead of the Baggies.

Reports in Portugal claim that Albion are keen on Porto defender Diogo Queiros.

The 20-year-old is best position in central defence but can also play on the right flank too.

The youngster is tipped to have a bright future, and Slaven Bilic is reportedly eyeing a loan move for the promising talent.

Aston Villa

Reports claim that Villa transfer target Kalvin Phillips has turned down Leeds' opening contract offer, as the Yorkshire side hope to tie down their star player.

Phillips was key to Leeds' season over the last campaign, with boss Marcelo Bielsa reportedly desperate to keep the midfielder for the upcoming campaign.

Villa are interested in a move for the 23-year-old, although it's thought that the player would prefer to stay with his boyhood club.

Meanwhile, reports claim that Villa have bid £7m for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

Dean Smith has already been busy in the transfer market this summer, but is still keen on adding players to his squad - with a new goalkeeper on the cards.

Heaton's contract is up next summer, meaning the England stopper could be available on a cut-price deal, although Burnley are thought to value him higher than the Villans' offer.

Walsall

Sunderland want to sign Walsall captain George Dobson this summer, according to reports in the north-east.

The central midfielder was key for Walsall following his permanent move to the club, but could do little to stop the Saddlers dropping into League Two last season.

The Black Cats are thought to be keen as they look once again to gain promotion to the Championship having failed in the League One play-off final last time around.
