McClaren has been dismissed from his role after only 10 months in charge following a run of only one win in the last fifteen games, the last of which being on boxing day.

Eustace, who managed at Aggborough for two seasons, left Kidderminster at the end of the 2017/18 campaign to become McClaren's assistant with the London side.

The former Coventry, Stoke City and Watford midfielder now has the opportunity to prove his managerial capabilities at Loftus Road with seven league games remaining.

His first test will be a trip to league leaders Norwich City on Saturday.
