January Transfer Window: The done deals of deadline day for Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall
The January transfer window has slammed shut once again, here we take a look at the deals done on the final day of the window.
Here's every deal from a hectic deadline day...
Wolves
Jonny Castro Otto signs up permanently
Kicking off the day in style for Wolves, Jonny Castro Otto sealed a permanent switch to Wolves on deadline day.
Joining for £15m the Spaniard has penned a four-and-a-half year contract which runs until 2023.
He only joined Atletico last summer for around £6m from Celta Vigo and, like Diogo Jota, moves from Atletico to Wolves having never played for the club.
Donovan Wilson departs on loan
Young Wolves striker Donovan Wilson became one of plenty of departures as he joined League Two Exeter City on loan for the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old has gone to the Grecians after spending the first half of the campaign at Wolves' partner club, Spanish third-tier outfit FC Jumilla, where he scored six goals in 16 appearances.
He netted the winner for Wolves at Southampton in the League Cup last season.
Leo Bonatini seals switch to Nottingham Forest
Bonatini was another player to depart Wolves on deadline day, heading to the City Ground on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
The Brazilian hadn't featured for Nuno Espirito Santo's team since early November.
Wolves bought the striker for £5m last July but he is now deemed surplus to requirements.
Nuno Espirito Santo previously admitted that it had been hard to leave Bonatini out the team, suggesting the payer had done 'everything he could' to try and force his way into the team.
Dominic Iorfa departs in permanent switch
Dominic Iorfa completed a deadline-day move to Sheffield Wednesday on a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old, who has been at Wolves for eight years, joins the Championship club for an undisclosed fee.
England Under-21 international Iorfa last featured for Wolves in May 2017. He spent last season on loan at Ipswich and has been playing regularly for Wolves' Under-23 side this season.
Trio of Wolves players make various loan moves
Three Wolves men all made overseas loan moves on deadline day too.
Young midfielder Connor Ronan, who spent the first half of the season at Walsall, has moved to Slovakian side FC DAC on loan for the rest of the campaign.
Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, who was one of Nuno Espirito Santo's first signings but didn't play at all last season due to injury, has had a season-long deal at Hansa Rostock cut short and joined fellow German third-tier club Wurzburger Kickers.
Scottish goalkeeper Jack Ruddy, meanwhile, has gone to Spanish lower league outfit UD San Sebastien. He had been with partner club Jumilla in the first half of the season.
Joe Mason leaves by mutual consent
Wolves cancelled the contract of striker Joe Mason by mutual consent.
The 27-year-old joined the club back in January 2016 for £3.5million.
He scored seven goals in 39 appearance but never featured under boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
West Brom
Jefferson Montero, Stefan Johansen and Jacob Murphy cap late show
In a true late show, West Brom revealed a last-gasp triple signing of Jacob Murphy, Jefferson Montero and Stefan Johansen all on-loan.
All three are eligible to play in Saturday's game against Tony Pulis's Middlesbrough.
“All three will give the team different dimensions,” said head coach Darren Moore.
Contract extensions for Tyrone Mears and Wes Hoolahan
In one final late move, Albion agreed new contract extensions for Tyrone Mears and Wes Hoolahan.
The two experienced campaigners in their mid-30s joined as free agents earlier this season but were out of contract at the end of this month.
However, both are now staying until the end of the season to provide cover following impressive performances against Brighton in the FA Cup.
Jack Fitzwater saga comes to an end
West Brom put an end to the 'saga' surrounding Jack Fitzwater, as he eventually returned to Walsall on-loan until the end of the season.
Fitzwater first joined the Saddlers on a temporary basis last January and went on to make 16 appearances for the club.
He was recalled by Albion at the start of the month and was on the bench for their FA Cup games with Wigan Athletic and Brighton. Then fears arose that he wouldn't be set to leave on-loan to Walsall again.
However, that wasn't the case with a deal being struck once again between the clubs.
Kyle Howkins returns to Port Vale whilst Alex Bradley also heads out.
One year after making the move to Vale Park on-loan, Kyle Howkins then repeated that deal by heading back once more.
The 22-year-old centre-back has gone back to the League Two outfit after spending the first half of the season training with Albion to recover from a knee injury.
Alex Bradley meanwhile, headed to Burton on-loan in another late move.
Aston Villa
Tom Carroll joins Villa late on
A shock late move to say the least, Tom Carroll agreed his move just ahead of the deadline - joining on loan with an option to buy.
Many fans expected to see Leroy Fer walk through the door, only for Villa to reveal Carroll as their late deal - with the former deal falling through.
The left-footed midfielder signs up to bolster Dean Smith's midfield, as was highlighted as a position being targeted in January.
James Bree heads to Ipswich
A surprising move for some, James Bree departed Villa Park in a temporary deal - heading for Portman Road.
The right-back joins Ipswich for the rest of the season, having found first-team opportunities hard to come by.
He had Alan Hutton and Ahmed Elmohamady to contend with at the right-back slot.
Tyrone Mings signs up for rest of the season
Villa sealed their first incoming player of the day early on, having reached an agreement with Bournemouth to bring Mings in on Wednesday.
Mings, who also attracted interest from Albion and Nottingham Forest, becomes Dean Smith’s third signing of the transfer window after goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic and defender Kortney Hause.
Able to play centrally or on the left flank, Mings adds options across the back line for Villa.
Hogan heads out on-loan
Having been stuck behind Tammy Abraham and Jonathan Kodjia, Scott Hogan agreed a loan move away from Villa Park.
He joined Villa in January 2017 under Steve Bruce, struggling to replicate the form he showed for Brentford which pushed the Villans to splash £12m to secure his services.
The Blades currently sit third in the Championship table, seven places and nine points ahead of Villa.
Frederic Guilbert joins and returns to Caen
Villa bolstered their future back line with the signing of French right-back Frederic Guilbert - immediately loaning him back to Caen for the rest of the season.
Joining for an undisclosed fee, few had expected the deal ahead of deadline day, with links only emerging mid-way through Thursday.
He joins Villa with a clear view to next season, given he won't be with the squad until the end of this campaign.
Youngsters make moves
A number of Villa youngsters departed the club on deadline day in both temporary and permanent deals.
Corey Blackett-Taylor, Jake Doyle-Hayes and Harry McKirdy all headed out on-loan to Walsall, Cambridge and Newport County respectively.
Also, Jacob Bedeau left on a free transfer two years after joining the club from Bury.
Walsall
Jack Fitzwater returns
Bringing back the man who has spent some good times at the Banks's in recent seasons, Fitzwater headed back on-loan on deadline day.

Walsall bring in Corey Blackett-Taylor
Joining the Saddlers from Villa, Blackett-Taylor signed up until the end of the season on-loan.
The talented 21-year-old becomes Dean Keates' seventh signing of the January transfer window.
Predominantly a winger, Blackett-Taylor can play on either flank but has also been known to play in the number 10 role during his 11-year spell with Villa, the club he signed for as a nine-year-old.
