Wayne Jones out of PDC World Championship

Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones was dumped out of the PDC World Championships at the first hurdle with defeat to debutant Jerry Hendriks.

Jones lost 3-1 to Hendriks, who was playing in the competition for the first time, at the Alexandra Palace in London on Saturday afternoon.

Black Country followers watched in horror on Sky Sports as' the Wanderer' was eliminated by losing all three sets 3-2 to the Dutch newcomer.

Hendriks battled back from 2-1 down in the last set to secure victory in style with finishes of 116 and 156. He plays Phil Taylor in the second round.
