Clad in shorts, flip flops and his trademark Hawaiian shirt last night, Mardle looked very much like he had just come from Birmingham Airport!
Mardle - now a voice for the sport through his work as a commentator on PDC events for Sky Sports - then took the oche to play against 12 punters.
Competitions had been held for weeks to play a leg against the ex-World No 5, such as an under-21 and league captains and officials tournament.
As a player, Mardle reached four World Championship semi-finals between 2004 and 2008 and was World Matchplay runner-up in 2003.
Although not currently active on the PDC circuit as of this year, the 39-year-old still regularly competes and is well-received in exhibitions.
The popular character also staged a question and answer session with stories from nearly 20 years playing in both the BDO and PDC.
