The 23-year-old from Wolverhampton launches her professional career in Sheffield on Friday night, writes Matthew Bozeat.

Healy won world kickboxing titles before concentrating on her business management degree and returned to the gym inspired by Rachel Ball’s success.

Aldridge boxer Ball had won the interim WBC women’s super-bantamweight title and will be in Sheffield cheering on Healy on Friday night.

Healy says she can’t wait until the fight is over – so she can order a pizza.

She said: “I only went back to the gym to lose the weight I put on when I was at university. I spent too much time sitting around eating pizza and not going to the gym. I would love to come up with the recipe for a really healthy pizza that athletes could have as part of their diet. Who wouldn’t want to eat that?

“If someone came up with an idea for a healthy pizza, I would marry them straight away.

“Not eating pizza is the biggest sacrifice I have to make when I’m training. If I wasn’t boxing, I would eat pizza every day. Instead I have to wait until after my fights and then I have a stuffed crust pepperoni or meat feast.”
