Ricky Summers suffers emotional loss at the O2
Tipton’s Ricky Summers admitted he was brought to the verge of tears after missing out on the British light-heavyweight title at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday.
Summers was outpointed by Enfield’s Frank Buglioni going down by a unanimous decision on the judges’ cards – 116-113, 115-114 and 118-111.
And afterwards he said: “Frank is a great champion and can hold a shot very well. I would love to do it again. I want to be on the big stage and am absolutely gutted – I could cry.”
