Grand Slam pre-party in Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton's Grand Slam of Darts will be kicked off with a pre-party at a city pub the night before to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.
The tournament kicks off at Wolverhampton Civic Hall next Saturday night and the Cleveland Arms, Stowheath Lane, will get the ball rolling.
They will stage a charity exhibition next Friday night featuring former PDC World Champion Dennis Priestley and women's star Trina Gulliver.
'Dennis the Menace' received the highest accolade the PDC has in 1994, won the BDO equivalent in 1991 and competed in the 2007 Grand Slam.
'Golden Girl' Gulliver has lifted the BDO women's world title on nine occasions and is the World No 5, having played professionally for 16 years.
A number of Grand Slam players will be stopping by as they stay in the area before the £400,000 tournament begins the next day, live on Sky Sports.
Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones, Mark Walsh, Tony O'Shea, Brendan Dolan and 2010 Grand Slam winner Scott Waites were at the Cleveland last year.
Tickets are just £2, with the option to pay on the door and on the night, and can be purchased by calling 01902 451 021.
