Emi Martinez has admitted he does not know what his future holds as speculation continues over a possible Villa exit this summer.

Clubs from Europe and Saudi Arabia are eyeing a move for the World Cup winner, who left the pitch in tears following Villa’s final home match of the season last month.

While Villa insist no deal has been agreed to sell any player, neither are they believed to have ruled out the possibility of selling Martinez, who still has four years left on a contract signed less than 12 months ago.

The 32-year-old himself gave no assurances over his future when asked about a possible move when reporting for international duty.

Speaking to the press in Argentina, Martínez stated: "My future? I don't know. I'm here to play for the national team, and that's all I care about right now.

"Do I want to change clubs? The transfer market has just opened, so there's still a long way to go."

Martinez has made more than 200 appearances since joining Villa from Arsenal for £20million five years ago.

His exploits for Argentina, with whom he has won two Copa America titles in addition to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, have seen him twice win the Lev Yashin Trophy for world’s best goalkeeper.

Martinez recently won the Premier League’s save of the season award for a stunning stop against Nottingham Forest last December.
